54 The Answer

Remember! When I refer to person in the Godhead in any blog, I am referring either to singular person (one-of-three) or to the collective person (three-in-one) of the Triune.

The question in Blog #53 was how would He (Christ Jesus) pay?

The answer is He would have to pay with His life. He would have to pay with His blood.

1 Peter 1:17-19

“And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here (on earth) in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed (Greek verb, Lutrŏo, Strong’s #3084) with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb (a sacrifice, a substitute) without blemish and without spot.”

Only Jesus’ life, His blood, had value enough to compensate for, no, to plentifully exceed the sum total of all wrongdoing of all humankind, of all time, put together.

And His sacrifice was divinely ordained to be Israel’s last and greatest blood sacrifice, ushering in the era of God’s New Covenant. From then on, by Jesus’ own instruction, Christian’s (Completed Jews first and later believing Gentiles also) of all time would remember His sacrifice with a drink of wine or grape juice to symbolize the blood He spilt as gâ’al (our Kinsman Redeemer) to redeem all believers.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

“For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night I which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, ‘Take, eat; this is my body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.’ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.”(Jesus’ words are in red)

So you can see, it was known pre-Creation, sensitive companion, known that Christ Jesus would have to be born as a human, and since no one could take His life, it was known in the Godhead that He would have to give it. Then He could more than adequately satisfy the requirement of right doing as payment for all wrongdoing . . .

If He lived a sinless life. Which He did.

If He voluntarily, by His own Free Will, became the substitute. Which He did.

By His own Choice. Which it was.

Jesus, our Divine Go’el (our precious Kinsman Redeemer) earned forgiveness for us.

Then He gifted us with Grace (Charis, pardon already paid for by Him).

Forgiveness, an act of the Will in Agape love (Salah & Aphiemi), cost the Godhead dearly, gentle reader.
