92 Disclaimer Moment!

Remember! When I refer to person in the Godhead in any blog, I am referring either to singular person (one-of-three) or to the collective person (three-in-one) of the Triune.

I’m having a disclaimer moment as I call it (something a lot like a hot flash) and this is it: Truth is absolute. My 100% understanding of truth is not.

Once again, gentle reader, I ask you to remember that I am relating to you what Holy Spirit has seen fit to point out to me in scripture overtime and at this juncture (Luke 24:45). I may not quite have every concept situated just so. Sorting something out is one thing. Putting it all back together is another. It “do” take time and effort!

Consider this, gentle reader, facts can be readily memorized, processed quickly; but to reach even normal understanding one must, among other things, be willing to explore, sample and select, absorb and assimilate a broad range of concepts and ideas, all the while carefully observing how such concepts and ideas relate to one another.

Uniquely, understanding of scripture expands beyond the normal understanding process in a human being, in you and in me, by the power of Holy Spirit. The role for each of us in this dynamic is to graciously invite in Holy Spirit, invite His supernatural assistance in the effort to understand. He is sent to guide, accompany and empower us (John 14:26). To gratefully receive His indwelling is critical.

At the same time we are to always allow for unevenness in growth and development in understanding from person to person. We are to always allow each little upwardly-struggling tendril each one of us represents leeway in comprehension and the ability to turn around and faultlessly grasp and express thoughts, and forgive each other when we don’t.

In fact, I have no doubt there is so much more yet for me to see, yet for me to understand.

I have no doubt that in the unevenness of development between and among human beings, there are things Holy Spirit has richly explained to you that I have yet to see and would be fascinated for you to share with me.

I also have no doubt that your rich personal understandings often find my understandings meager and immature. And you are right—they are, on too many occasions they are meager and immature in many ways.

If you remember, I am an airhead debutante on a lifelong spiritual odyssey here, relying solely on the Grace of God to save me from myself, the world and the adversary. I routinely remind God of that fact, too, that I am dependent on what He has promised to those who seek Him in Christ. I remind Him that I am counting on the fact that scripture says that “He who has begun a good work in you (or me) will complete it . . . (Philippians 1:6)”

As I have said before, the credit for the amazing understandings available (and I think there are many) in this blog all goes to Holy Spirit. But please remember, dear, dear, dear, dear reader, any fault goes to me alone. I am a work in progress.

91 A Neutral Example of Who God Is.

Easter Week lies ahead and what better time to dwell on Who God is?

Earnest reader, I introduced Blog #88 Must Share Time last week explaining how I wanted to craft a statement about who God is and how beautiful and extraordinary our emerging understanding of Him is becoming. And then I went on to say, “But, truly, words fail me.” Then I decided to exercise my option of sharing the USA Today letter since I was at such a loss for words.

And so for 2 weeks you have been reading the result of sharing that letter.

Maybe I should have stayed with my own words, but I didn’t. See the power of choice? Ahh, but God promises that “All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).” And I’m one of those—on call for His purpose.

So, now, again because of the power of choice, dear tour companion, I am going to exercise another option— to approach our subject through close attention to teachings from scripture; to which, it is important to note, believers are required to defer. To do that, I will also utilize a more neutral example (I hope) and apply three major points scripture urges believer’s to remember when choosing anything but anything: God’s Authority, God’s Will and God’s Position.

Read along and see.

Matthew 28:18 NKJV God’s Authority—God’s authority is absolute (completely unequivocal and not capable of being viewed as partial or relative, Encarta).

Matthew 6:10 NKJV God’s Will—what God wants to happen will happen— God’s Will is accomplished by His faculty of command—the operation of issuing orders—with the product being the result of His orders, that is of His marching orders.

Matthew 6: 13, 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 God’s Position—God’s position is above all things.

And now, to illustrate the preeminence of the Godhead and more neutrally illustrate the implications of those 3 major points (more neutrally than using too colorful or highly charged examples), consider this analogy:

Position, will and authority of the Godhead over all Creation is much like the position, will and authority of the elected American President over the United States of America.

Primarily, our President is the people’s Supreme Commander much in the way God is the believer’s Supreme Commander.

The chief similarity between the two is that both have an agenda and both have followers/believers who “serve (their leader and his/His agenda) at his/His pleasure.”

The chief difference between the worldly and the Godly commander is that the person, power and position of the American President can change from election to election; while scripture says the person, power and position of God never changes and His agenda is always perfect. Further, some presidencies are “good” and others are not; while scripture says God’s reign is always good.

My point? As great as the office of the president is, insightful reader, scripture says the Godly Office is always greater. Remember that when choosing anything. Remember that when choosing to whom to bow or defer, when choosing whom to believe.

For example, dear sharp reader, when God’s Word, The Bible, teaches that the Godhead Community and rule of pure goodness is the one true and unfailing source of example and leadership for good on earth, we best believe it. When scripture teaches that all other offices or positions whether president, pontiff, potentate, judge, king, preacher, teacher, prophet, saint, goddess, guru, shaman, dalai lama, neighbor, enemy, criminal, deviant, professional, world power, dominion or whatever are merely, at best (in a fallen world), weak reflections of the position of Supreme Commander held by the Triune Godhead, there is no equivocation in that teaching.

Our God, our Triune God, dear reader, our Godhead, the only living Godhead (Matthew 16:16) with all knowledge, the perfect mindset, the spiritually quickened mind, the sound mind and the right mind with rich mind-emotion ties, emotional discipline and unfailing good will, this is our God the utmost God!

Again and again, His scripture proves that His authority, His will, His position will continue, cannot be contested any more than He allows, and will never be overcome.

That’s who God is—the divine and empowered person, the fully and perfectly realized spiritual being of the Godhead; and in Christ Jesus, our courageous rescuer and the embodied type and model for all human being and doing.

Is that not beautiful and extraordinary?

90 Godhead Recommendations

At any rate, dear tour companion, admittedly Cleveland Writer has her/his shortcomings—outbursts of wrath (2 Corinthians 12:20), stridency, hardly rising to the esteemed level of self-control exhibited and recommended by her/his beloved Godhead. And she/he is very opinionated about her/his doctrine, i.e., possibly implying homophobia in Godly people who decry sin, when I am sure scripture rebukes many kinds of sexual sin and states absolutely that that’s why God the father sent His son to save us— from sexual sin and from sin of ALL kinds. After all, God loves the person (scripture says that) and hates the poison (of sin--scripture says that) for the damage it does the person (whether or not that person can any longer recognize sin when they see it).

Then also, Cleveland Writer is very hard on her/his fellow Christians of varying opinions.

But her/his point is real— there is no substitute for the Triune Godhead (Exodus 20:3), no substitute for the Father, Jesus Christ or Holy Spirit; and Jesus Christ is the absolute head of the church (Ephesians 1:22 NKJV).

And if she/he remains faithful to that point, she/he will be transformed by it (Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 3:18).

But it is a choice to believe this, to look exclusively to Jesus as our unique intercessor with the Father (Hebrews 7:25) by the power of Holy Spirit; to understand Jesus is the head of His church; that He is the cornerstone (Matthew 21:42) and others are building blocks of the church; and that He calls individuals into His service (as building blocks, Ephesians 2:19-22), individuals such as those who follow in the shoes of the fishermen, apostles and disciples alike—a powerful choice. And I am grateful to her/him for going out on a limb and publicly making and stating that choice and risking the wrath of all who refuse to concentrate on what he/she got right in the letter, all so they can indulge their fury (remember the Godhead carefully edits emotion and recommends such policy to one and all) at what they think she/he got wrong.

It happens, dear reader. Truth often gets bypassed in an obfuscating hysteria of objections.

I don’t want to be guilty of that. I choose to always try to remember to practice Godhead ways and take the best and let the rest go, so to speak, as much as possible, giving myself and others room to grow whenever possible.

Another of the Godhead’s recommendations (Matthew 6:12).
