If you remember from last blog, gentle reader, I wrote that the Godhead conceived creation as a place of Great Glory. God conceived “the creation of a cosmos, a universe, a shining world, an earthly paradise, a perfect place populated by amazing, living and conscious beings, reigning over living creatures great and small, and in glorious relationship with the excellent, loving and attentive Creator . . . ”
This was a vision of stunning beauty for the Godhead, and God’s whole being was exalted by the prospect.
Then immediately, images of a corrupted creation coursed in the wake of this perfect scene . . . and grief washed throughout the Godhead. In perfect unison, the Godhead responded by channeling that grief into a perfect remedy—the Great Consolation. Nothing less than perfect was ever given residence in the Godhead.
We began exploring this perfect remedy last blog with the Great Consolation—Christ Jesus.
But there is more. Gentle reader, if in pre-Creation Great Consolation in the figure of Christ Jesus carried the perfect promise of comfort and solace for the Godhead, there was also, at that time, yet another prospect of reward available to God for the trouble of Creation . . . and that was vindication, foreseen vindication, vindication promised, perfect vindication—a state of ultimate glory-to-come for the Godhead.
This state of great happiness, satisfaction and triumph could reasonably be foreseen pre-Creation by the 3-persons of the Godhead because they knew that everlasting glory was, for them, the only possible outcome. Glory would, without exception, be theirs out-there, in-the-future, at a time only they knew for sure. For finally concluding a seemingly impossible task and making that task a job well-done—better than well-done, heroically done—the Godhead would be everlastingly glorified.
You may ask, “What impossible job well-done can that be?”
To answer you, I point to what I consider to be the obvious—that the Godhead knew pre-Creation, in that searing moment of grief, that eventually, in the day of crumbling ruin of the first Creation, He would bring a new day, a new day of a new start to everything, gentle reader.
And, in fact, scripture says just that—the ending will be better than the beginning. The ending will be a new unending beginning—(my words).
There will be a new Creation, gentle reader.
The Great Glory of the first Creation lost in the fall will be replaced with the Greater Glory of a brand-new Creation (Revelations 21 – 22).
How awesome is our God! What a great heart He has for Creation!
This is a reasonable projection of scriptural teaching, earnest tour companion.—that since God is all-knowing, He could envision Creation in the time of pre-Creation and, simultaneously, also foresee bringing a new and better Creation out of a fallen Creation: both creations understood from the very beginning
We all must get this truth through our heads: pre-Creation the Godhead conceived a day of Greater Glory to surpass even that of the Great Glory!
To hint to you the nature of that Greater Glory would be to say, gentle reader, that it will be a whole new day of Creation, you guys, better than the first, and everlastingly durable, if you can imagine that. It will be a day of infinite beginning with no place for a “fall” in it! Think on that!
In this new place, when all choices are finally made and pure goodness is the victor, a worthy new population will (by their choice), in agreement with God; enter into a new and purely good and ever-lasting Creation and world; all under the Kingship of the Great Consolation, Christ Jesus, the promised Messiah of the Torah and the promised King of Kings of the New Testament— He, at whose name, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11).
In this new place, as the hymn thankfully says, there will also be “no more night, no more pain, no more tears, never crying again. Praises to the Great I AM. We will live in the light of the Risen Lamb! (God of My Praise, Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, Marietta, GA).”
Thus, reader of gentle spirit, with Great Consolation already at hand in Christ Jesus, you can believe what I am saying--you can count on Greater Glory to come. You can rest assured that the Godhead is eternally committed to Greater Glory; and that launched by an ultimate pure goodness-as-antidote-to-evil event, by the coming of Christ Jesus, pure goodness will absolutely prevail.
Recognize clearly here, gentle reader, all along God was prepared with effective overrides to evil and ultimate rewards in Creation. All along, it was going to be He who would be the world’s Great Solution. All along, His Pure Goodness would never be overcome. And because of His Provision, Great Consolation would one day arrive and Greater Glory would become the destiny of all Creation. God was always going to have the perfect remedy at the ready, gentle reader, a remedy perfectly fashioned to perfectly serve and born of His rich mind-emotion bonds. What a great heart for Creation lives in our God!
And so you see, gentle reader, rich mind-emotion bonds thrive at the heart and soul of our Godhead. In God our Father, rich bonds more finely tuned than any Stradivarius give us His Promise of a grand and breath-taking future—The Greater Glory in Christ Jesus. It is this existence we currently all can anticipate, gentle reader. Struggle and suffer though God and man both have and do, the prospect of Greater Glory because of Christ Jesus and the Godhead is guaranteed and forever ours.
And I tell you that I agree with God (my choice) that the satisfaction of aspiring to and surpassing the Great Glory lost in the fall, in fact, of achieving an even Greater Glory, was satisfaction worthy of the great pain the Godhead and all endure in order to deliver that greater glory.
It is this Greater Glory that will be His job well-done. It is this Greater Glory that will be living proof both of His heart for Creation and His royal entitlement to vindication. And for that, nothing less is required than a standing ovation from me and the rest of a devoted and grateful Creation.
